Day One....

well it looks like a bigger mess, but we are making progress. We removed the mirror and found this big hole. I also removed the towel rack and found another big hole. Someone really did a horrible job before us. I got one coat of paint and will do another tomorrow, hopfully that will cover up the nasty sponge panting that was done!

We finally get to remodel our bathroom. I am starting a poll.... HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE EVAN TO FINISH THE BATHROOM? Put in your guess' and the winner will get to use the bathroom first!!! Oh and ice cream on me. Get you guess in fast.

Breaking Down...

Sometime I sit and wonder Why Me? I don't want to but it just happens. When you find out your son has cancer the day before you give birth to your third child. Going to the doctor and putting my poor Colby through so many test, and pokes. With the medical bills piling up and I can't even afford to pay them. Then I find a mouse in my house and catching 15 more before we get the problem fixed.
Thinking everything was going okay, we went on a trip to Utah which was fine, until Colby fell out of the Cabella's basket on his head, and Oscar came home with scratches all up his legs. Then coming home with flies and spiders all over the house. Then the other night I was moving my entertainment center (to sell because I have no money I need to sell everything I own) I found a dead mouse, yes dead! and decomposing! Gross theres where the flies came from. Can my house be anymore Unheathly. Well Yes......
When things couldn't get any better for me My bathroom is falling apart and I find POOP coming out of the bottom of the toilet. How the heck does that happen.
I am tired and am just getting more tired. I need a day at a spa or something to pamper me.

Colby Update...

Some of you may have been waiting on an update.... Well here it is.

It is the whole story for those of you who don't know whats going on.

At the end of June Colby went into the doctor to have a large mass removed from his scrod em. When they removed it they tested it and found out it was a tumor and was cancerous. That was the worst news I could get the day before I had Nellie. He they had to have a CT scan and lots of blood tests to see what stage the cancer was in.

When they draw the blood they look for the tumor marker which is called Alfa fetoprotien. That marker had to be below 6 points. The week after he had his surgary his marker was at 836 (thats way to high) They took again in the middle of July and it was at 36 (getting better) They took again at the beginning of August and it was at 12.5 (much better only 6 to go!) We then took blood last week and will find out today what its at.

Because the AFP is going down they don't have to do chemo (yeah) If it doesn't go down or worse go up, chemo will be a posibillity. He does have to go through blood test once a month, ultra sounds, and x-rays every other month, for a least a year.

Colby is a tough little boy. He is getting use to the fact that he has to go to the doctor A LOT, he does like to go to MSTI ( Mountain State Tumor Institute) and play. MSTI is one of the best pediatric cancer centers in Idaho and I feel like I am in good hand.

Mission...

Oscar packed his bucket this afternoon and said he was ready to go on his mission. Kids are so cute.

I haven't had much time to post so here is a post about our busy August!

Nellie was blessed August 3, 2008 in the Hillside Ward, by her father Evan Schafer. Isn't she Beautiful!

Oscar had a birthday party on the 10th and turned 3 on the 14th. He loves getting presents!

We then packed up our little Toyota and drove to Utah for Andrea's Wedding (Evan's Sister) She was married in the Mt Timpanogos Temple.

Oscar went Bowling...

On Wednesday Emily and I took the kids to the bowling ally for a few rounds of some free bowling. We were in our second frame when Oscar tripped and hit his face on the bowling ball, knocking his two front teeth up into his gum. We rushed to the dentist and took a few x-rays. Everything looked okay and the dentist said his teeth would come back down on there own. Oscar was very brave.
